Anthea Lay

Anthea first tasted success with her painting as a schoolgirl when she had a dozen pictures shown on the telly, Adrian Hill's "Sketch Club".  50 years later, after various careers,  teaching, WRNS, and a daughter,  her next TV appearance was in person on the BBC's "Big Painting Challenge".  The verdict after 4 episodes was great landscapes, not so hot with people!

A plein air painter, member of Launceston Area Art Group, Anthea has a regular exhibition at the Engine House Cafe, Kelly Bray, and can be found each Wednesday in Callington Town Hall at the Country Market.  Active in the Tamar Valley, her preferred medium is oils, or pen and wash, and she is happy to discuss commissions.
